New ways to meet up and Sew at Quilt Culture!

So much has happened in the last month. First, let me thank everyone that is helping with Aprons for Autism. Coming to sew at the shop, meeting new people and making new friends. We appreciate that you choose to spend your time with us.

We started a new sew time called “Handwork Happy hour” every Tuesday from 3pm to 5pm. If you need help with your binding or embroidery work or just want some company while you do your handwork, you can sign up and secure your spot by clicking here "Handwork Happy Hour sign-up" .

We would love to see you and help you with your project.

Due to the success of Handwork Happy Hour we are adding Handwork Humpday! Every Wednesday from 10 am to 3 pm we are hosting Handwork Humpday. It’s all handwork so no need to bring a machine. In order to support handwork, we now carry a selection of Valdani floss, needles and small beads. If you can’t come by, you can shop virtually using video chat. Message us and we will help.

Aprons for Autism is just taking off!

Last month we had the privilege of sewing aprons at the fair with the help of 4H children and parents. It was so much fun, so we thank 4H for inviting us.

We also spoke at several quilt guilds about our program and more and more quilters are committed to help. We are so grateful for that.

We dropped off 37 Aprons in Oroville at Mesa Vista and another 70 Aprons in Chico to Loma Vista. CLICK HERE! to see the faculty speaking about how Aprons for Autism are helping their students.

The biggest news about Aprons for Autism is that our Nonprofit application was approved so we are officially a 501(c)(3)! YAY! Now we can do even more work to help a greater number of people.

We are looking for people that want to help and here are a few skills we need. Grant writers, media marketers, event coordinators and more. If you feel you have a skill that could help and are willing to donate your time please reach out to us. Just sharing this newsletter with as many people as you can would help get the word out worldwide and it is going to take a world of people to help everyone with Autism but together we can do it.

Memorial Day Gr”Eight”ful Sale lasts 6 days!

We decided that Memorial Day should be week long so we are having a Gr”eight”ful sale where every fabric (44/45”) that has Red, White or Blue in it will be just $8 per yard. We realize that Memorial Day is for those that perished protecting our freedoms however quilters make quilts for the living and we feel that honoring anyone that is serving our country is noble so please take the opportunity to get some fabric and make a quilt for someone you know that is a patriot. They will feel the Joy and Appreciation and I dare say they will be Gr”eight”ful!
