I know many of you have seen the sign in front of the house and have expressed concern.  While we love the “House of JOY” and the “Quilt Shop for the People” and have had such a great time helping thousands of quilters with their projects, the only constant is change.  Mike and I want to live in a cooler climate, so we are looking at moving to the coast.  Don’t panic though, the house isn’t sold yet and if there is someone out there that would like to continue running a quilt shop at this location, we can certainly discuss that option.  The last thing I want is to close the shop and leave Red Bluff without a place to meet and build quilting relationships.  But, sometimes you need to follow your dream, and cooler temperatures are certainly a big part of our dream.  It’s you, the quilters that have made Quilt Culture such a HUGE success and we are so grateful.  Never did I think that this level of success and JOY would happen.  Without you the “House of JOY” wouldn’t exist.  We are still here and still open so be sure to stop by soon and get some JOY.  We will keep you posted on the sale of our home and the future of the “House of JOY”.

Updated Hours of Operation

Recently we changed our hours of operation to being opened Wednesday thru Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.  We are adjusting our hours once more.  Starting on August 1st we will be open Thursday thru Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.  There is so much work to be done with the long arm quilting and prepping kits and many other things we need the uninterrupted time to make those things happen.  We appreciate your understanding.  There will be a few exceptions to these hours for some classes that are coming up so keep reading to get the update on that.

We are so excited about being able to teach you the Laura Heine method of collage quilting.  We have scheduled 2 classes so far and they are both full!  Currently we are working on the sample for the Phoenix pattern which is brand new this year. The class will be scheduled for August 1st and 2nd.

We are so lucky that Mama Lohde has agreed to come teach in our JOY classroom.  Don’t delay, sign up today because space is limited, and these spots will fill up quickly.  Below are the projects you will be able to choose from for the classes.

Where we are headed next

PIQF is July 24th thru 27th and not only will we be there but our “House of JOY” quilt has been accepted as part of the PIQF Quilt Show.  YAY!  Not only that but it is also going to be part of the “New Quilts of Northern California” exhibit.  We certainly hope to see you at the show and look forward to seeing your posts of your picture in front of the “House of JOY” quilt.  It’s going to be so much fun!

Block of the Months and Chit Pickin’

Not to worry… we will continue to do the current block of the months and chit pickin’ until we go and even after if possible.  We have the Northstate River Run Shop Hop in October as well as the Shop Hop Block of the Month in October so we are going to do everything we can to stay thru October.  Please be patient and flexible and know that we will always update you as soon as we know anything.
