What’s happening in the JOY Classroom?

The Tote Bag class on Feb 9th is TOTALLY FULL!  YAY!

If you got signed up, congratulations!  If you wanted to sign up but didn’t get in, please let us know so we can schedule another class.

The Art of Upcycling Scraps class taught by Kathy Kadar Pauletich is happening on Feb 17th and Feb 24th and there is still room on both days. Class fee is $20, and space is limited so come in or contact us to sign up before they fill up!

Creating an Art Quilt from your Photo with Lynn Pillus

This class will teach you how to make a truly unique quilt.  Class dates are February 27th and 28th and the fee is $85. 

Rice Bag Class is March 2nd and there are only 6 spots for this class.  Class fee is $30 and will be from 9am to 4pm.

Bowl Class taught by Cindy Kafer is March 9th 10am to 3pm. Class fee is $30 and there are only 4 spots left.  You can pick up the rope you need at Quilt Culture when you sign up.

Block of the Months

Chatsworth BOM

Starts March 9th 2024

When: the 2nd Saturday of each month 10 am to 3 pm

Where: Quilt Culture 22025 Gilmore Ranch Rd

Cost: $15 a month

Sign up Fee: $60 (includes pattern book and 6 yrds of background.)

Max 25 participants

Quilt should finish 74 ½ x 88 ½

You will receive the book and 6 yards of background when you pay the sign up fee.

Each month on the 2nd Saturday you will receive 4 CHITS of fabric to make your block. You will get to choose them yourself so be sure tocome early to get the best selection.

Hours will be 10 am to 3 pm.

**You must show up in person to receive your CHITS

There will be 2 free sew days a month scheduled for this BOM in the classroom. Sign up is available for 12 people max on each day. You can sign up under the FREE OPEN SEW tab on the website at www.quiltculture.art to reserve your spot.

$5 BOM starts February 2024 and it is SOLD OUT!

Don’t worry ... another $5 BOM is starting in March on the 3rd Saturday of the Month! This will be using the Quilt Builder Card Deck Set #2 the purple box.

Sign ups will be limited, and you can sign up immediately.

When: the 3rd Saturday of each month 10am to 3pm

Cost: $5 (the fee will be waived if you bring with you the completed block from the previous month)

Sign up fee: $15

You will receive the pattern block box when you sign up and pay your sign up fee.  The box is different from the Blue box. 

Each month on the 3rd Saturday you will receive 4 pieces of fabric to make your block.  You will get to choose them yourself so be sure to come early to get the best selection.  Hours will be 10am to 3pm

** You must show up in person on the 3rd Saturday with your completed block to get your fabric for the next month’s block for FREE.  If you cannot make it, that’s ok, it just means that month will cost $5 to get your fabric.

Aprons for Autism around the Globe!

We are growing and reaching so many more people.  We have had Apron activity in England and Germany this past month which is so exciting.  We also gave a presentation at the Presbyterian Church and got an amazing response.  We are so lucky to share the mission of Aprons for Autism with the world and thru the generosity of sewers everywhere bless people with Autism and their families worldwide.
